By participating in the BADBIR study site team and/or registering for a BADBIR database account you are permitting the following personal data to be collected and stored: your title, name, email address and a copy of your CV, including current job role and employer.

What we use your information for

1. Verification and monitoring of database access requests

This means we comply with data security requirements.

2. To fulfil research governance requirements

Participation in research obligates adherence to Good Clinical Practice for managing study documentation. BADBIR facilitates the maintenance of the Study Site File which includes a delegation log (containing the name, job role and dates worked on the study), and a copy of a CV for any individual that has worked on the study. For Principal Investigators only, name and centre name will be displayed on the BADBIR website on our Participating Centres page .

3. To communicate important study updated

The email address you provide at registration will be used to contact you regarding the BADBIR study. This may be to inform you of news or changes to the study, ask you for clarifications on data entered or provision of reports such as the six-monthly finance statement.

How do we protect your information?

Access to the BADBIR database where the information can be viewed is strictly controlled. Your data is stored on a secure server at the University of Manchester.

Do we disclose any information to outside parties?

Only members of the BADBIR team at the University of Manchester and members of the BADBIR site research team have access to this information, via the online Site File section of the BADBIR database. We do not share this information outside of the BADBIR study team at the University of Manchester.

Some information will also be displayed on the electronic Delegation Log for your centre (title, name, job role). Your CV will also be stored within the BADBIR Study Site File.

Other research opportunities

With your agreement, we will also contact you regarding other dermatology research opportunities. These opportunities are approved by the BADBIR Steering Committee prior to circulating to study team members. If you agree to be contacted, information will only be sent whilst you are a current, active member of a BADBIR study site team. This consent to be contacted can be withdrawn at any time by emailing badbir@manchester.ac.uk.
