Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was selected for their successful recruitment and long term follow-up data collection.

A message from Newcastle Upon Tyne:

Our team’s success is due to the research team being fully integrated within the psoriasis biologic outpatient service, which gives our patients the opportunity to be actively involved in research.

Our services include a weekly biologic nurse specialist clinic where BADBIR follow-up visits can be completed, and a multidisciplinary consultant-led clinic where all patients are reviewed by the MDT at the end of the clinic. This supports us to identify potentially eligible new patients who we can then approach at their next clinic appointment.

Over time we have built positive relationships with our participants, and they view research follow-ups as part of their clinic appointment and care. The feedback they give says they feel good helping in research, and this for us is extremely rewarding.
